Express Media’s Cognitile Trailer Released

Express Media’s Cognitile is in the final stages of development and QA. Featuring video game music, sound and levels by Beatscribe. This exciting game has a definite Indiana Jones flare to it and I tried to capture some of that exciting, slightly dangerous and somewhat funny feeling of those movies and the comical appearance of the main character.

The game is a lot like another title I did levels on called Robo Hero from Bravado Waffle.  Both games work by having you watch a series of events and try to memorize the timing. Then you plot your character through the level and hopefully not into one of the many death traps in his path. The fast and slow nature of the planning and action phrases of the game lead to me creating two tracks that fade back and forth as needed between quiet, temple ambience to exciting “here comes the big boulder (but don’t worry it’s fake)” orchestral action!

Lush jungle paths, dark temples and desolate caves comprise Cognitile's treasure hunting world.

I was also involved in the level design and sound work for Cognitile. Working with Express Media was an excellent experience. A few different level designers were hired to create the game’s 60 different trapp-filled levels. I am proud to say one of my levels was featured as the final stage in the game.

Dragging your finger plans the hero's path to the treasure. It seems easy but you'll die quite a bit!
