Rubicon Review On Retrospekt

I am quite honored to be mentioned on this review of Wick’s awesome old school game Rubicon (free here). Wick truly showed that crowd sourcing can work. He even went so far over his humble Kickstarter campaign goal, that he was able to jazz the game up with some amazing orchestral chiptunes from Rich Douglas and some electro-chiptunage from some other guy 🙂

Combining lots of chiptune sounds with modern instrumentation was an exciting challenge and I think the end product is among some of my best pieces. I really wanted to capture not only the sound of classic games, but also the melodies that defined games like Megaman 2. All in all, I think it came out great. Check out one of the rockin tracks I did for the levels.
